Prudent Technologies Joins GSMA Open Gateway to Advance Global Telecom API Standards & Strengthen Fraud Prevention

Share

Prudent Technologies has joined the global GSMA Open Gateway initiative, marking a significant step in advancing open telecom network APIs and strengthening secure messaging and fraud prevention frameworks worldwide.

The collaboration positions Prudent Technologies within a global ecosystem driving adoption of CAMARA and Open Gateway API standards  -  a unified framework designed to allow enterprises and developers to securely access telecom network capabilities such as number verification, SIM swap detection, and identity authentication.

With telecom operators globally accelerating efforts to combat digital fraud and streamline identity verification, Prudent’s participation reflects the growing role of trusted technology partners in enabling secure, interoperable communications infrastructure.

Supporting the Next Phase of Global Telecom Infrastructure

The GSMA Open Gateway initiative, launched at Mobile World Congress Barcelona, has rapidly scaled to include 85 telecom operator groups representing over 300 mobile networks and 81% of global mobile connections. The framework enables telecom operators to expose network capabilities through standardized APIs, simplifying integration for enterprises while strengthening security and trust.

Prudent Technologies will contribute its expertise in secure messaging infrastructure, authentication systems, and operator-grade API integration to help accelerate adoption and commercial deployment of CAMARA-compliant network services globally.

This includes enabling critical capabilities such as:

  • Secure number verification for digital onboarding

  • SIM swap detection to prevent identity fraud

  • Network-level authentication services

  • Secure enterprise messaging and communication workflows

These capabilities are increasingly central to fraud prevention strategies across banking, fintech, e-commerce, and digital platforms.

Enabling Secure, Programmable Networks at Global Scale

Prudent Technologies brings deep experience supporting telecom operators and enterprises across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America, delivering secure messaging platforms, authentication systems, and high-volume communication infrastructure.

Through its participation in the Open Gateway ecosystem, Prudent will focus on:

  • Accelerating commercial adoption of CAMARA and Open Gateway APIs

  • Enabling telecom operators to deploy standardized, interoperable network services

  • Supporting enterprises in integrating secure authentication and verification capabilities

  • Strengthening fraud detection and prevention through network-native intelligence

As telecom networks evolve into programmable platforms, standardized APIs are becoming foundational to enabling secure digital services at scale.

“Prudent Technologies has always driven innovation at the intersection of secure communication, operator ecosystems and developer-centric APIs,” said BJAS Murthy, Director & CEO at Prudent Technologies. “Our involvement with the GSMA Open Gateway initiative reflects our mission to bridge network capability with real business value  -  accelerating global adoption of CAMARA and Open API standards while elevating industry-wide trust, interoperability and security.”

Henry Calvert, Head of Networks at the GSMA, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Prudent Technologies to the GSMA Open Gateway initiative, with their proven experience of supporting financial services, e-commerce, government and entertainment firms around the world.”

Addressing a Growing Global Priority: Fraud and Identity Security

As digital transactions scale globally, telecom networks are playing an increasingly critical role in enabling secure authentication and fraud prevention. Network-based identity verification, enabled through standardized APIs, provides a more secure alternative to traditional OTP and application-based authentication methods, reducing vulnerabilities and strengthening trust across digital ecosystems. Prudent’s participation positions the company among global technology providers enabling telecom operators to transition toward more secure, API-driven network architectures.
